Master Ventura Silva

Master Ventura Silva is Director and General Founder of International Tang-Do Kwan Karate Association and a world-famous martial arts maker of champions who has formed 54 students into top Black Belts throughout Mexico and Southern California. Master Silva's broad expertise in karate has earned him many prestigious Black Belt Degrees (see left).

Most important, Master Silva is a warm-hearted humanitarian who has sponsored many poor children to study free in his studios. He is an environmentally conscious supporter and trusted agent of United Eco-Action Fund in Mexico and oversees UEF's humanitarian and environmental programs there.

Master Silva has a long history of championships in self-defense, katas (forms), weapons, and fighting. He has acted as an International Referee at karate opens for many years and sponsors the VENTURA SILVA INTERNATIONAL in Baja California annually.


Master Silva's remarkable career began over 40 years ago.

  • Earned Brown Belt in Judo under Jorge Hernandez in 1962 and Brown Belt in Shotokan under Ron Glaubitz.
  • 2nd Degree Black Belt in National Tang-Soo-Do Congress.
  • Began training in Mexico City and Los Angeles in 1963 under Chuck Norris, President of United Fighting Arts Federation (U.F.A.F.). While under instruction of U.F.A.F. Master John Robertson, Master Silva was promoted to 5th Degree Black Belt.
  • Honored in 1987 with Baja's Annual Sportscasters Award.
  • Named by Mexican newspaper LA PRENSA as "Top Karate Instructor of 1989."
  • Advanced to 6th Degree Black Belt and named U.F.A.F's "1990 Best Instructor of the Year."
  • Earned 7th Degree Black Belt in 1992

Master Silva has been a stuntman, fighting choreographer, and instructor for Mexican Police Special Agents. He appeared in numerous movies, including Firewalker, starring Chuck Norris, and recently taught seminars in Uzbekistan, Tashkent, and Samarkan.

Master Silva operates studios in Baja California. He works with adults and specializes in training children to become karate champions.
